Vegan On Tap Meets Rainforest Action Network for Cocktails

This location is shown only to members

Announcing a new Meetup for the Animal Rights/Vegan Meetup Group and the Rainforest Action Network Meetup Group

What: Joint Get Together for those interested in environmental, animal rights and vegan issues

When: Thursday, August 20, 2009, 7:00pm-9:00 pm

Where: Private Residence-Courtyard of Condo Building of Carrie Nutter-Novak & George Novak
1872 N. Clybourn Ave.
Chicago, IL
Cell: [masked] (Call cell to enter main gate)

General Information: Please join us for this joint event to learn about /share viewpoints regarding the connection between animals, the environment and health in a casual atmosphere as you mingle and consume animal friendly and environmentally friendly beverages and refreshments in an outdoor courtyard in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Refreshments: Beverages and food will be provided so you do not need to bring anything but if you prefer to, that is fine but please make sure items are vegan (e.g.-do not contain meat, poultry, fish, dairy, cheese, eggs, butter, honey, etc.) and do not contain palm oil so we are not contributing to the suffering of animals or the exploitation of humans. Sustainable, earth friendly products will be used so no need to bring own tableware.
Alcoholic (beer and wine) and non alcoholic (water and soda) beverages will be provided. This is not a totally byob situation. It is not necessary to bring any items but if you prefer something special, feel free to bring an item.

Transportation: Side streets surrounding condo have non-metered, non-permit complimentary parking. Main streets have pay-box parking. The red line (North and Clybourn) and brown line (Armitage and Sheffield) stations are each within a few blocks of the condo. There is a bus that runs on Clybourn (with a limited route).

Entrance to Courtyard: IMPORTANT-Please make sure that you have my cell (Carrie: [masked]) number with you as you will have to call it in order for me to open door for you. Our building is very secure and gated and unfortunately we cannot buzz people in if we are not using our regular landline phone. Since this event is in the courtyard we won’t have access to our phone in condo and the only ways to access this area are either by going through the locked main gate in front of building and locked door leading to courtyard or by going through the back gate (also locked), so when you call, we will physically open the gate closest to you for you.

Questions: Please contact Carrie- home: [masked], cell: [masked] or e-mail: [masked]

Please rsvp asap. Hope to see you on August 20th!

I had to go with my aunt to the hospital last night. I will definately be looking for the next VOT, though. I love those things.
