Pizza Party Extravaganza Part II

WHEN: Saturday November 7th at 1pm
WHAT: A buffet of salad, thin crust and deep dish vegan soy cheese pizza!
WHERE: Delisi's Pizzeria (details above)
COST: $16 measly dollars
HOW: EVENT IS FULL

About a year and a half ago we brought together one of our favorite pizza places and local vegan company Chicago Soy Dairy to create our first ever vegan pizza party! It was so popular that we doubled our reservation and packed the place full. We were hopeful that this was to be the start of an era where pizzerias everywhere in Chicago might start offering vegan options on their menus. Well that didn't exactly explode overnight but we are now happy to see a few forward-thinking restaurants starting to experiment.

One such restaurant is Delisi's Pizzeria. Not only do they offer a vegan thin crust pizza but they have the holy grail of vegan Chicago food and that is the deep dish pizza. Yeah, you read that right! Not only can you get a vegan cheese pizza but they offer Upton's Naturals seitan products as another nice vegan accommodation. There's no secret handshake, no special times or hoops to jump through. Just order like anybody would and load on the vegan options. In fact, you can even order for delivery on GrubHub where they proudly boast: "Now offering Vegan Pizza!". These people are as serious as they are friendly and there's no need to whisper "can you make that vegan?...oh you don't know what that means?...*sigh*"

Before I could even get on the horn to inquire about a Vegan Chicago dine-out event they beat me to it and emailed me! Well, that's a no-brainer so we decided to get them in the queue right away. With that, it's my pleasure to offer our Vegan Chicago Pizza Party Extravaganza Part 2! That means a pizza and salad buffet with pop included, all vegan natch. There will be a variety of thin and deep dish pizzas featuring vegan cheese and Uptons seitan. (alcoholic bar drinks are cash extra if that's your thing). The cost for this event is $16 which includes food, tax/tip and Meetup fees.

To get in on this you must RSVP "YES" and prepay through our Amazon payment system. We only have 60 seats available and the event will fill up fast so get it together with the quickness and signup ASAP!

It's right across the street from Rosehill, my favorite cemetery. Who's in for an autumn cemetery walk?!

Seri, we'll go after the meetup which should be around 3pm I'd guess. The cemetery closes at 4pm so we don't have alotta time. We'll make an announcement or see me. :)

The restaurant wasn't equipped to serve 60 people. Some had to sit outside on the sidewalk (literally, as there weren't enough chairs). The deep-dish crust, though, was very good.

The pizza was terrific! And the staff at Delisi's is friendly and chill. It was nice to meet other vegans and enjoy such wonderful food in a laid-back environment.

The food was great! I love when we go to a meetup and feel special, and that sausage wasn't in quotation marks or preceded by "veggie". The staff was super nice, and so was our group of course. We went on a cemetery walk by ourselves because of time constraints and Rosehill was very cool.

Everyone was super cool, the hang was really chill, and the pizza was solid.

The pizza was awesome and always great seeing friends and meeting new ones. Thanks team for organizing a great event!

I had a very good time and enjoyed meeting some Vegans. The pizza was great. Delisis seemed overwhelmed though. A little slow on the pizza production.

Very nice people and nice to have pizza for a change.

The space wasn't quite what I expected and didn't make it easy to socialize with people who weren't seated with you, and mingling was almost impossible. But the amazing and varied pizza more than made up for that.
