Wow, we almost didn't get a VOT in this month. Good thing we had five weekends to make it happen
So we've decided to treat ourselves by heading to the Long Room, a city favorite located in the west Lakeview neighborhood. I've heard nothing but great things about this place, from friendly staff to a fine beer selection to a B&W photo booth in the back!! My sources aren't the only ones singing their praises. Last year, Chicago Magazine named the Long Bar the best adult bar in the city!!
This place seems to be known for its vast beer selection, but liquor-lovers needn't worry - they also have a full bar. And Saturday Night's special -- a $5 Old Grandad Manhattan. I'm in!
The owner of the Long Room, Clark, is the brother-in-law of VOT regular, Judy. So we are in very good hands. He's even reserving a spot in the back room just for us so seating won't be a problem.
The Long Bar is located on Irving Park Road just west of Ashland Ave.
If you're taking the L, you can take the Brown Line and get off at Irving Park and walk east a few short blocks.
If you're taking the bus...
* Irving Park bus (#80) to Ashland.
* Ashland (#9) to Irving Park.
If you happen to be driving, there is free parking in the lot on Irving Park just west of the bar.
