Summer is trying its damnedest to slip away from us but we're not gonna let it...not without at least one or two more jaunts to a beer garden.

We're headed back to the West Lakeview neighborhood, this time to a place called Ten Cat Tavern. If you're one to appreciate a beer in your hand, jazz on the jukebox, funky art on the walls, and a kick-back beer garden, then this just might be the place for you. We'll be enjoying the beautiful summer evening (yes, I've already reserved perfect weather) in the intimate beer garden. Since we're starting at 7:00, we should be able to claim a sizable section for our VOT crowd. But just to be safe, I recommend getting there early to secure your spot.

The drinks at Ten Cat are very reasonably priced, which should please the budget-conscious among us.

Paradoxically, Ten Cat is a dog-friendly establishment. So feel free to invite your canine buddies.

Ten Cat is also food-friendly. So feel free to invite your favorite vegan food to join you. May we suggest some kick ass tofu tacos or burritos from Rockin Taco's - located just down the street on Irving Park.

Ten Cat Tavern is located on Ashland Ave just south of Irving Park Rd.

If you're taking the L, you can take the Brown Line and get off at Irving Park and walk east a few short blocks.

If you're taking the bus...

* Irving Park bus (#80) to Ashland.
* Ashland (#9) to Irving Park.

If you're biking, you're too wise to need instructions.
