Hey everyone,
I wanted to let you all know about the new awesomeness that is (you ready for this!), Temptation Vegan Cheese Pizza by the slice! Thats right Chicago, Chicago Soydairy is making cheese and you can get it at whole foods by the slice. Right now it is only available in the whole foods on Halsted (3626 N. Halsted), but if it sells well there, more stores in the city will pick it up. So get out to whole foods and buy yourself some delicious vegan pizza by the slice with the New Temptation Vegan Cheese!

I know it is asking alot to get all of you to go out and eat vegan pizza, but it would be a big help to us at Chicago Soydairy. So go do it!

sigh, that IS alot to ask but i suppose i could make the effort. How i sacrifice!

When will we be able to buy this cheese?

Right now it is only in restaurants (I believe Chicago Diner is using it as of now). But hopefully it will be available to all in many restaurants around the city in the very near future. I am sure all the reports will be up on www.welovesoy.com

Just to let you know, we were at the Diner on Feb. 29 and two waitresses assured us that they were using Follow Your Heart. I was so disappointed. Anyway, I just thought you should know.

Are they using Follow Your Heart for all the vegan options? I know they use two kinds, right? For the nachos and then everything else... Are both Follow Your Heart? And can someone tell me why when I use Follow Your Heart it never tastes as good as at the Diner?!?!

I went there on 3-1-08 with a friend specifically for the vegan pizza. She got a large with eggplant, spinach and onion. I think it was slightly undercooked (the cheese wasn't browned yet) but it really tasted great. Needed a bit of garlic or garlic salt but it was SO good.

Hmmmm.....

I know that 150 pounds of Teese has been delivered to Diner and it is my understanding that they are in fact using it as of now. Perhaps they still have some FYH that they are working their way through or perhaps the wait staff doesn't know about the switch yet. But I promise, you can get it at Diner (that or Dan & Ryan are totally making me work for nothing? haha).

The two servers I talked to - including one who has been there for a loooong time - had never even heard that CSD was making vegan cheese. I guess it's not that weird that the news wouldn't necessarily filter down to the waitstaff yet, but if they are using it, you might want to let Mickey know that the servers weren't aware of it.
