BTW Karyn's uses alotta Match Meat in their faux meat dishes. The great thing about that stuff is it's not as prepared as most vegan meats so the chefs have a better raw material for which they can work.

Hmm, Never herd of the MATCH stuff. Apparently it is at Baba's Village and some Whole Paychecks as well, And explicitly not at other Whole Paychecks. The one in the O.P. is not listed so i guess it is Schrödinger's cat and is both there and not. Does this mean it has less melamine than the other gluten stuff out there?

debra and i visited last weekend. we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and ambience... not to mention the 100% vegan menu (as compared to the other Karyn's venues). in addition, the upper lounge area could be the perfect destination for... say... a Vegan On Tap.

I just made reservations at this restaurant for my birthday dinner with my mother and her boyfriend on April 1st. I'm very excited for myself but also to see what the carnivores think.

Karyn's on Green is awesome. I'm so proud and happy that Chicago finally has a truly posh, first-class vegan restaurant.
The service was great (unlike at Karyn's Cooked), the food was spectacular (try the "chicken" legs or the chorizo sliders), and the ambiance is smart and sophisticated. |

Agreed. I love how when I was in Texas and went to a Raw Bar there, they ask me if I knew of Karyn's. It's growing nationally. It's a matter of time before it's universal.

I took some carnivores here and they LOVED it and were amazed. The chicken drumsticks...SO GOOD.
